Blake Durant

Furious driving right hand rhythms combined with subtle left hand suspended overtones create Blake Durant’s unique flavour on both the Acoustic and Electric guitar. Performing between 300-350 shows per year his passion for music is unwavering.

From humble beginnings on local stages and street corners to featuring at some of the nations biggest and best venues, national television and radio stations. Blake is an approachable figure in the music scene and is often found after shows chatting about particular songs, tunings and equipment used.

This journey is far from over.

Blake started learning music at the age of 6 (piano) and studied both performance and music theory. At the age of 14 Blake transitioned from piano to electric guitar and by age 17 was performing at venues across Brisbane fronting original bands.

His solo song writing and original band would go on to become signed by an indie startup label (Kable) where he was commissioned to write music for other artists alongside the recording of his own originals. The main original band (Crimson Tear) played some of Brisbane’s iconic venues including: Her Majesty’s Basement, The Rev, The Arena (Roxy), Hard Rock Café, The Zoo, Brisbane Convention Centre and many more.

The band would share stages with the likes of: Birds of Tokyo, Dead Letter Circus, Butterfingers, Candy Pain (would later become Dark Cell). During this period Blake was also performing and recording with a blues band (32-20) that catapulted him into some major blues rallies and support spots for some of Australia’s premier blues artists.

By 2007 Blake had moved from the original music scene into covers and continued to perform with bands until 2016 when he began BAM Duo and BAM Solo an acoustic based high energy show. BAM would go on to perform 300-350 shows a year around the greater Brisbane area, Gold and Sunshine Coast as well as Sydney, Arlie Beach and Mt Isa. BAM would also perform at a variety of festivals and sold out shows over the coming years and in 2020 were invited to perform live on National TV (Channel 7’s Sunrise).

At the end of 2020 Blake returned to band work running the popular band Jabba, this product runs alongside BAM Duo and BAM Solo.
